Vehicle Strikes Pole X 2

Springfield Fire Company was dispatched on two separate incidents on Friday, March 27th involving vehicles striking utility poles.  The first incident was dispatched at 07:09 hours for the Motor Vehicle Accident on Yale Avenue at Myrtle Ave.  Upon arrival of Springfield Police and Engine 44-4, a pick-up truck had struck a utlity pole head-on, destroying the pole and causing major damge to the pick-up truck.
One passenger in the truck had minor injuries and was treated by personnel from Medic 106 and Ambulance 44-7.  Firefighters secured all hazards on the scene and stood by until the vehicle was towed from the scene.  Company 44 was available at 08:09 hours.
Springfield Fire Company was again dispatched at 21:41 hours to the 400 block of East Thomson Avenue for a Motor Vehicle Accident with a vehicle into a utility pole.  Upon arrival of Springfield Police and Chief 44-9, one vehicle was overturned resting up against a utility pole directly accross the street from Sabold Elementary School.
The driver of the vehicle was already outside the vehicle upon arrival of first responders.  EMS personnel from Ambulance 44-7 and Medic 106 treated the injuried driver and transported the driver to Crozer Chester Medical Center.
Firefighters secured all hazards and stood by on the scene until the vehicle was removed from the scene.  Company 44 was available at 22:56 hours.
