Honoring a Fallen Firefighter

Springfield Fire Company members honored our fallen brother, Lt. Nicholas Picozzi Jr., from Lower Chichester Fire Department, Station 39, by attending the viewing services on Monday, March 10th at Holy Savior Church in Linwood.  Lt. Picozzi died from injuries sustained in the line of duty while battling a house fire on the 100 Block of Moser St. in Upper Chichester Township, on Wednesday, March 5th.  TAC 44, Engine 44-1, Engine 44-4, Rescue 44, and Utility 44 along with 25 members paid their respects to Lt. Picozzi Jr. and offered our sincere condolences to our fellow firefighters from the Lower Chichester Fire Department and Lt. Picozzi's family and friends.

On Tuesday, March 11th, Springfield Fire Company members attended the funeral services for Lt. Picozzi.  30 members attended the services along with TAC 44, Engine 44-1, Engine 44-4, Rescue 44, Tower 44 and Utility 44.

Springfield Fire Company would like to thank the members from Quarryville Fire Company (Station 5-7, Lancaster County) and Deptford Township Fire Department (Ladder 926 - Gloucester County, NJ) for providing stand by coverage at Station 44 so that the members of Springfield Fire Company could pay their final respects to our fallen brother.
