Car vs Utility Pole with Entrapment

At  0249 hours on Sunday, February 19th, Springfield Fire Company was dispatched to a MotorVehicle Accident with Entrapment on East Springfield Road at South. Alford Road.  One vehicle had struck a PECO utility pole.

Chief 44-9A and Springfield Police arrived on location reporting one vehicle into a pole with one trapped.  Squad 44 and Rescue 44 worked with EMS personnel from Ambulance 44-7 and Medic 106 to free the front seat passenger from the vehicle.  Firefighters had stabilized the vehicle and placed the Holmatro rescue tools into service remove the passenger's side door of the vehicle to provide remove for removal of the severely injured passenger.

The passenger was transported to Crozer Chester Medical Center's Trauma Unit with multiple injuries.

Units operating at he scene were: Squad 44, Rescue 44, Utility 44, Ambulance 44-7 and Medic 106, Medic 75-7 (Briarcliffe) and Springfield Police.
