3 Vehicle MVA with Entrapment

| On Tuesday, February 14th at 1054 hours, Springfield Fire Company responded to the report of a Motor Vehicle Accident with injuries at the intersection of West Woodland Avenue and West Sproul Road.
Upon arrival of Springfield PD, there was a three vehicle accident in the intersection with the driver of one vehicle trapped. Firefighters stabilized all the vehicles and placed the Holmatro Rescue tools into service off Rescue 44. Firefighters from Rescue 44 and Squad 44 worked with Ambulance 44-7 and Chief Medic 106-9 (Springfield Hospital) to free the occupant of the vehicle.
EMS personnel from Ambulance 44-7A and Medic 106 also treated another injured driver. Firefighters had the trapped driver extricated within 20 mins. The company was back in service at 1139 hours.
Units operating on the scene were: Rescue 44, Squad 44, Rescue 73 (Rose Tree), Ambulance 44-7, 44-7A, Medic 106, Medic 106-9, Springfield Police and Fire Police.
