Dwelling Fire in Swarthmore
Springfield Fire Company was dispatched, along with Company 14 (Swarthmore), Company 13 (Morton/Rutledge) and RIT 53 (Broomall) to the unit block of Crest Lane in Swarthmore Borough on Tuesday,  February 14th at 1512 hours for the Dwelling Fire.

Initial arriving units reported smoke showing from the second floor of a two story single family dwelling.  The dispatched assignment was upgraded to a Working Fire.

Firefighters from Engine 14-2 started an interior attack, while personnel from Tower 44 started laddering the structure and performed horizontal ventilation in the area of the fire.  Additional personnel from Company 14 and Company 13 assisted initial first in units.

Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the rear second floor area of the home and performed overhaul operations checking for any possible fire extension.

Firefighters from Company 44 remained on the scene until 1700 hours.
