Active Gas Leak Inside Dwelling


The Springfield Fire Company was dispatched to the report of a gas odor inside the dwelling on Tuesday, January 31st at 1940 hours
in the unit block of North Hillcrest Road.

Upon arrival of Chief 44-9A, there was a strong odor of natural gas inside the residence.  44-9A ordered the evacuation of the property. Firefighters from Engine 44-1 ventilated the dwelling and secured the natural gas to the dwelling.  PECO was notified to respond. 
The situation was made safe and the residents were returned back to their home.

Units operating on scene: Engine 44-1, Tower 44, Ladder 20 (Garrettford Drexel Hill), Ambulance 44-7, Medic 106 (Springfield Hospital), Springfield Police and Fire Police.
