Rescue and Engine as RIT into Broomall

Springfield Fire Company was dispatched on Friday, January 28th at 2047 hours to assist Broomall Fire Company (Company 53) in the 200 Block of South Parkway Boulevard for the Dwelling Fire.  Rescue 44 and Engine 44-4 responded for the Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) assignment.

Upon arrival on the fireground, Firefighters from Company 53, Company 56 (Manoa) and Company 35 (Brookline) were operating on the scene of a two story single family dwelling with fire in an attached garage that had spread into the dwelling.  Company 14 (Swarthmore) was standing by as the initial RIT on the incident and were set-up on Side A (front) of the dwelling.

Firefighters from Rescue 44 and Engine 44-4 staged all the RIT equipment on Side C (rear) of the dwelling.  Firefighters addressed safety issues in the rear of the dwelling by clearing out some window egress points.  Firefighters stood by on the scene for approximately 2 hours before being released by Company 53 Command.

Rescue 44 and Engine 44-4 were available at 2302 hours.
