Apartment Fire in Media Borough

Springfield Fire Company was dispatched on the Box Alarm assignment to 200 West Jefferson Street, Media Borough, on Thursday, January 28th, at 14:00 hours for an Apartment Fire. Initial units on location from Company 23 (Media), Company 73 (Rose Tree) and Company 51 (South Media) had a fire in the ktichen area of one apartment on the ground level of 3 story apartment building.
Firefighters from Tower 44 assisted with searching the upper levels of the building and ventilation. Firefighters from Engine 44-4 stood by on the fireground.
The fire was quickly contained by the initial crews. Firefighters performed overhaul operations and checked for fire extension.
Firefighters from Company 44 remained on the scene until 15:00 hours.
